Shop Rides
We currently ride three days a week from the shop rear of 886 Canning Highway, Applecross (off Sleat Road)
At 6.00 am Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Saturday’s ride stops for coffee at Cottesloe for about 20 minutes. We return to the shop Tuesday and Thursday at about 7.30 am and Saturday at about 7.50 am having covered a 45 km loop around the river. This is not a beginner’s ride. We now offer a medium paced ride Saturday morning of about 27-30kph still stopping for coffee.
If we are not fast enough e-mail me at canningbridgecycles@bigpond.com and I will compile a list of those that want to go faster and let you know when we have a reasonable number.
If we are too fast for you and you would be interested in a slower or beginners ride. Again email me at canningbridgecycles@bigpond.com and I will contact you when there are enough. I think about five would be enough for a group.
Ride Rules
You must have a safe bike to ride in a group. It must be in working order, other people’s safety is at stake.
You must be self contained i.e. carry a spare tube and enough tools to change it. A pump is also necessary.
Carry water with you.
Group rules include but are not limited to:
- Hand signals to be used at all times (yes we will teach you if you don’t know)
- Single file on paths at all times
- Before you move in a bunch look beside you and behind you, you may bring others down if you don’t.
- There is no claim on another cyclist in a group if there is an accident.
- Headphones are not permmited in the group (no exemptions)
You ride at your own risk (please be careful and consider others)
